Should I order Hardwood or Softwood: What’s the difference and why does it matter?
Softwoods are usually from coniferous trees like Spruce, Larch or Pine.
Hardwoods are usually from deciduous trees like Ash, Oak or Beech.
We find that softwood varieties are inclined to burn quicker than hardwood because they are not naturally as dense a wood type.
Both hardwood and softwood will burn perfectly well so long as they are dried out to the maximum moisture content of 20%.
